Description

Edition of 4 distinctive works

As part of his creative work, Michel Dufresne creates installation projects that bring together a collection of sculptural objects made from various materials. He explores certain forms, always referencing to pebbles, almost in their raw state, which he reshapes and splits in two. The insertion of glass (marbles and rods) gives them a unique character. These carefully crafted shapes resemble geodes: stones with rock cavities lined with crystals. This meticulous work of inserting glass creates a tension between the rounded and sturdy forms of the stone in contrast with the fragility and transparency of the glass insertions. The random arrangement of these shapes, as well as the contrast of shadows and light created by the glass, gives them a megalithic quality.
